Arizona Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly is among those in Washington questioning President Donald Trump’s appointment of Bill Pulte as acting director of national intelligence.
Pulte currently serves as head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
Kelly is on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He says Pulte does not have the qualifications to lead the intelligence community.
"In statute, it is required that you have a background in intelligence, in the military, that you have relevant experience. He has nothing. I mean literally this guy has no relevant experience to have this job," Kelly said.
Pulte can act as director until December before needing Senate confirmation.
