Ukrainians in Arizona say their country is defenseless and are urging immediate action from the state’s congressional delegation — to maintain American military and economic support.
Orest Jejna is a Scottsdale judge and member of the Phoenix-based group Cactus and Tryzub, which is bringing local awareness to Ukraine’s war effort.
He says he welcomes President Donald Trump’s pledge this week to let Ukraine license and produce its own Patriot Missiles.
"But that’s gonna take some time and we need them now. We needed them weeks ago and we’ve got to put some pressure on the administration to get those Patriots to Ukraine," Jejna said.
Amid a shortage of the defense weapons, Russian attacks have killed dozens and injured hundreds of Ukrainians in the past week.
