Bartlett Dam is located on the Verde River.

Bartlett Lake levels are expected to rise as SRP started releasing water from the Horseshoe Dam on Monday after recent storms.

Stephen Flora, senior hydrologist, said SRP has seen more water flow in the reservoirs in October and November than the previous nine months of the year.

“We still need to plan for drought, but we welcome this change in wet weather and wet pattern we've seen with one of the wettest falls so far in a while,” he said.

SRP says varying releases will continue for the next couple of weeks to balance the water supply between the reservoirs.

The utility urges campers not to park or camp next to the water and to pay attention to rising lake levels.
