A sunny day in metro Phoenix on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

After a week of above-normal temperatures, National Weather Service Phoenix meteorologist Ryan Worley says relief is on the way.

"After [Thursday], that heat warning will be allowed to expire and we should actually be looking at some cooler temperatures, cooler relatively speaking of course, headed into the weekend and into next week," Worley said.

Free rides to cooling centers in Maricopa County are available daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by calling 211.
