This election season, how to be a successful candidate — in an elementary school

Here on The Show, we’ve been talking a lot about the upcoming elections. And you’ve heard about various ways candidates tie themselves in knots trying to connect with voters, trying to drive a consistent message, trying to come across as human and relatable.

And so today, The Show wanted to bring you a conversation with someone who’s run for office at the local level — and won both of his races.

His name is Cormac Dobson, and he was recently elected treasurer of his elementary school. The Show spoke with him recently about how to run a successful campaign, starting with his first race for third-grade class representative.
