Lesbians are an important part of the fan base for the WNBA. Many of the players are out, and fans have a safe place to be out and proud.

Corbman is a humanities professor at Arizona State University and a historian of feminist and queer social movements. She’s also one of the coordinators of the Lesbian Herstory Archives. With them, she helped curate an exhibit recently celebrating the lesbian fans of the New York Liberty, a team she’s been a fan of her whole life.
